Ông Vũ Văn
Hùng, từng bị án 3 năm tù vì "Tuyên truyền chống Nhà nước", đã bị bắt
theo tội "cố ý gây thương tích", bà Lý Thị Tuyết Mai, vợ ông Hùng cho
BBC biết hôm 16/1.
Bà Mai nói hôm
4/1, ông Hùng, 51 tuổi, đi họp Hội Giáo chức Chu Văn An từ trưa nhưng đến tối
khi bà về nhà thì không thấy ông đâu.
"Tôi đi tìm
khắp nơi, hỏi bạn bè thì bạn bè nói hình như bị bắt. Trời mưa gió, hai mẹ con
đi tìm ở công an quận Hà Đông, đến công an phường Thanh Xuân Bắc thì mới biết,"
bà Mai nói. viết blog về các vấn đề xã hội với bút danh Tụ Tinh Thần. 4/1 ông Hùng thuật lại rằng có hai thanh
niên lạ mặt "tát liên tiếp vào mặt ông" và đe dọa nếu ông không về
nhà ngay thì sẽ tấn công.
"Ông Hùng
lúc đó cũng có phản kháng và đó là cái cớ để người ta bắt giữ ông," ông Tuấn
nói.
Bà Mai cho biết
gia đình đã nhận lệnh tạm giam, nhưng tội danh bị đổi thành "Cố ý gây
thương tích."
Luật sư Tuấn cho
rằng, "Việc bị bắt vì một tội và tạm giam vì một tội khác hay xảy ra đối với
giới bất đồng chính kiến."
Luật sư cho biết
theo luật, hai tháng tạm giam, ông Hùng sẽ phải được thả về, và triệu tập khi
tòa xét xử vụ án.

Drivers
stranded overnight on M74 as snow sweeps Scotland
Hundreds
of drivers have spent the night in their cars after becoming stranded due to
heavy snow.
Mountain
rescue teams were sent to help those stuck on the M74 in Dumfries and Galloway
after severe weather led to closures at Millbank and Beattock.
Traffic
Scotland said gritters were working to clear routes, but were hampered by
jack-knifed lorries.
Public
transport has been disrupted and schools will remain closed in parts of Scotland
and Northern
Ireland.
A series of
weather warnings have been issued, with snow and ice forecast until Friday.

cáo Thăng thừa nhận trong quá trình điều hành PVN có xảy ra khuyết điểm, tồn tại
mà đến hôm nay, một số người phải đứng trước tòa.
Ông Thăng nói hơn
30 năm qua, ông vẫn chưa hoàn thành nhiệm vụ và còn nhiều "món nợ".

Brexit:
Brits take EU rights bid to Dutch court
Five UK
nationals are going to court in the Netherlands in a campaign to keep their EU
citizenship after Brexit.
They want a
Dutch judge to press the European Court of Justice (ECJ) to clarify their
rights.
The ECJ, if
it decides to make a ruling, could guarantee such rights as freedom of movement
after the UK leaves the European Union.
An ECJ
decision would affect all British nationals living in the European Union.
The
European court could rule that all member states must guarantee the rights of
Brits in the respective states where they reside - under European law.
About
85,000 British nationals live in the Netherlands.
Brexit:
Conservatives urge 'unity' ahead of EU bill vote
The EU
(Withdrawal) Bill gets its third reading in the House of Commons later before
heading to the Lords.
The draft
legislation has already been the subject of highly-charged debate in the
Commons, facing hundreds of attempts to change its wording and suffering one
government defeat.
Ministers
are not expected to lose Wednesday evening's vote.
But there
have been warnings of trouble further ahead when the House of Lords takes over.
The UK is
due to leave the EU in March 2019, and the EU (Withdrawal) Bill is a key part
of the government's Brexit strategy.

Bayeux Tapestry is set to be displayed in the UK after France agreed it could
leave its shores for the first time in 950 years, the BBC understands.
French
President Emmanuel Macron is expected to announce the loan during his visit to
the UK on Thursday.

the tapestry - which depicts the Norman Conquest of England - would not be
transferred before 2020.
The paper
said the loan was subject to the outcome of tests to make sure the 11th Century
artwork was safe to move.
The
tapestry tells the story of the future William I's conquest of England,
culminating in the Battle of Hastings and the defeat of Harold in 1066.

Jessica Falkholt has died from injuries she suffered in a car crash three weeks
ago, an Australian hospital has confirmed.
The
accident in New South Wales on 26 December had already killed her parents,
sister and the other driver.

actress, 29, played Hope Morrison in the soap.
Her life support
was switched off last week and she died on Wednesday morning local time, said St George
Hospital in Sydney.
"The

Myanmar police kill seven Buddhist protesters in Rakhine
Police
in Myanmar's troubled Rakhine state have opened fire on Buddhist protesters,
killing at least seven.

violence occurred after more than 4,000 ethnic Rakhine Buddhists gathered in
Mrauk U on Tuesday to protest at a ban on the annual commemoration of the fall
of the ancient Arakan kingdom. Several injured people were also taken to
hospital.

Three gored to death India bull-taming sport
At least
three men in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu have been gored to death
while watching a bull-taming contest known as Jallikattu.
The
controversial sport sees thousands of men chase bulls to grab prizes tied to

Hong
Kong court has jailed activist Joshua Wong for three months, his second prison

He had been

A
Chinese human rights lawyer says his licence has been revoked three months
after he wrote an open letter criticising the ruling Communist Party.
Yu
Wensheng, 50, received the news in a letter from Beijing's Bureau of Justice on
15 January, a photo of which
he has since tweeted (in Chinese).
Mr Yu has
long been a frequent and vocal critic of the government.
He is among
hundreds of human rights lawyers who have recently been detained and

The US
is withholding more than half of a $125m (£90m) instalment destined for the UN
relief agency for the Palestinians, American officials say.
It will

back a further $65m.

official said the move would have devastating consequences for hundreds of
thousands of vulnerable people.President Donald Trump said earlier the US could
cut aid if Palestinians rejected peace efforts with Israel.
The US
