Amsterdam's Schiphol airport: Police shoot knifeman Dutch police say they have shot and arrested a man who wielded a knife at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport.
The emergency prompted the authorities to evacuate part of Schiphol, one of Europe's busiest airports.
The situation is under control and the airport is safe, the military police say.
No other injuries were reported. A police spokesman told AD newspaper there was no assumption of a terrorist motive.

Teruel Spain: Arrest made after murder of police officers A man suspected of killing three people in Spain on Thursday has been arrested.
Norbert Feher, a Serbian national also known as Igor Vaclavic, is the prime suspect in the killing of two Spanish police officers and a farmer in the north-eastern region of Aragon on Thursday.
Mr Feher is suspected of at least three other murders in Italy.He was previously imprisoned in Italy for eight years and is wanted by Interpol.

He was shot and died later.Four intact child burials made more than 3,000 years ago are among a series of recent discoveries near the Egyptian city of Aswan, officials say.One of the burials found by a Swedish-Egyptian team still had the linen used to mummify it, antiquities ministry head Dr Ayman Ashmawy said.The burials date from Egypt's 18th dynasty (1549/1550-1292 BC).
Meanwhile an Egyptian-Austrian team discovered part of a cemetery and a Swiss team found a statue of a woman.
Many of the mud-brick tombs contained pottery and other funeral items, mission head Dr Irene Foster said. She said the remains of a town dating back to the Old Kingdom (2613-2181 BC) were found below the cemetery and included a ceiling impression of King Sahure from the 5th Dynasty (2494-2345 BC).
The third find in the area was that of an incomplete statue dating back to the Greco-Roman era. It was found in Aswan by an Egyptian-Swiss mission.Local antiquities head Abdel Moneim Saeed said the dress worn by the figure had similarities to that worn by the Greek goddess Artemis. Archaeologists in Egypt have displayed items, including a mummy, from one of two previously unexplored tombs in the ancient Nile city of Luxor.The mummy is believed to be that of a senior official from Egypt's "New Kingdom", about 3,500 years ago.
Other items included figurines, wooden masks and richly coloured wall paintings.
Iraq hangs 38 on terrorism charges in a mass execution, 38 jihadist militants convicted of terrorism offences.
The justice ministry said they were all members of so-called Islamic State (IS).
The death sentences were carried out in a prison in the southern city of Nasiriyah.
It was the largest mass execution since 25 September when 42 militants were hanged. "The victims of IS deserve justice, not mass executions carried out after deeply flawed and hasty trials," said Lynn Maalouf, Amnesty's Middle East director Iraq executed at least 88 people last year, up from 26 2015.
Syria war: US says flares fired at Russian jets US fighter planes fired warning flares after Russian jets entered an agreed non-conflict area over Syria, the US defence department says. The two Russian Su-25s flew east of the Euphrates River and into US-designated air space on Wednesday, the Pentagon said.
